WHAT WE DO

We connect, mobilize, and support communities, researchers, activists, and funders working to help overlooked communities combat authoritarianism and mis/disinformation.

THE PROBLEM

">

Frontline efforts tend to be small, under-resourced, and lack technical expertise in political messaging, organizing, etc.

Political efforts focused on new immigrant communities tend to focus more on short-term voter mobilization.

Misinformation research is rarely focused on new immigrant communities.

Other support functions (e.g., funders, technical advisors) are rarely focused on misinformation or new immigrant communities.

OUR APPROACH

We strive to build long-lasting infrastructure and support the entire ecosystem.

  1. Coordination: Convene a coalition of community efforts, activists, researchers, and funders to develop collective strategies and amplify each other’s efforts.

  2. Service provision: Provide services that strengthen organizations (e.g., research / data, communications / messaging, mobilization / organizing, content creation and translation, training on civic and news literacy).

  3. Resourcing: Catalyze the field by helping direct funding flows (e.g., advising funders, subgranting).

Between 2000 and 2020, the number of Asian American eligible voters grew by 139%

AAPI turnout in Georgia increased by almost 62K votes over 2016. In comparison, Biden carried the state by fewer than 12K votes

“Thousands of new voters across the country turned out in areas with significant numbers of Latinos and residents of Asian descent… Mr. Trump… won the lion’s share of the additional turnout.”

*41% believed Joe Biden was under the influence of Black Lives Matter / antifa; 35% believed the deep state was out to ruin Trump’s presidency
